Fused silica scan lens for short pulses

Short pulse (SP) and ultra-short pulse laser (USP) demand due to their high beam quality and peak intensity optimized f-Theta lenses. Mainly fused silica lenses are used to increase the damage threshold of the f-theta lens, because the damage threshold of fused silica is significantly higher compared to standard glass and show less thermal effects. Further, internal ghosts inside the lens elements or the scanning mirrors have to be avoided.

Sill Optics offers a quasi-telecentric F-Theta lens optimized for SP and USP laser with a focal length of 163 mm. The incident angle of the laser beam is at the edge of 90 mm x 90 mm large scan field less than 5 °. Optimized for the wavelength range of 515 nm - 545 nm (S4LFT3161/292), the minimum spot size in the scan field is about 15 µm, with a beam diameter of 10 mm.
For the range within infrared from 1030 nm - 1090 nm we offer the S4LFT3162/328. For a beam diameter of 15 mm the spot size is about 20 µm.

In order to achieve even smaller spots, a telecentric lens is designed with a focal length of 100 mm suited for a 10 mm beam. It realizes at a field size of 35 mm x 35 mm an incidence angle of 1.4 °. The S4LFT4010/292 is optimized for a wavelength range of 515 nm - 545 nm and reaches a spot size of about 9 µm. The S4LFT4010/328 is designed for the infrared range from 1030 nm - 1090 nm and has a spot size of about 18 µm.
